CHECKERED FLAG FALLS AT TEXAS MOTORSPEEDWAY

Pellet Envy took the Reserve Grand Champion honors this past weekend in Fort Worth, Texas. Speedway Motorsports, Inc. and Proctor and Gamble put their collective corporate heads together to create the Prilosec OTC BBQ Shootout Series. Thirteen teams were hand picked to do battle on race weekend at NASCAR tracks around the country. The first of the four events was held at the Texas Motorspeedway. Saturday the speedway played host to the O'Reilly 300 Nationwide Series race and Sunday, the Sprint Cup Samsung 500. Congrats to Kyle Busch and Jeff Gordon on their victories.

With these events popping up on such short notice, we called on a couple good friends to fill in this past weekend. Neal and Chris of Dodge County Smokers helped us out by competing in Texas while we hosted our Old School versus High Tech cooking class in Shannon, IL. Besting all but Twin Oak Smokin' Crew in a field of top notch barbecue talent, kudo's to the Dodge County boys on a job well done. We've planned a debriefing soon so I'll have all the juicy details to write about here on the blog. Stay tuned. I think it's going to be a wild one. Oh, and here are the overall results:
