Odds & Ends

I've been invited to participate in a round table discussion regarding preferential bias in judging at competitions and garnish. It will be at 9:06 PM eastern and can be heard at http://www.latalkradio.com/

Unrelated, I stumbled across a new product that fits right in with competition barbecue and the dog days of summer. It's called the Pickle Sickle http://bobspicklepops.com/. Not to tout this product as some sort of miracle for hot weather, but it's noted that NFL and college football trainers have their players drink pickle juice to prevent cramping while they play in the hot weather.

Finally, congrats to Chris Cappell of Dizzy Pig BBQ http://www.dizzypigbbq.com/ . He just filled orders for his amazing rubs from Whole Foods Markets in the mid-Atlantic. Chris has worked very hard for this to happen. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Now get back to grinding those fresh rubs Chris!

Hello Pellet, thanks for the post! The JalapeƱo really ties in nicely.

I first saw your product yesterday on the meat counter at McGonigles Meat Market here in KC. I really think you should send me a case of these to pass out to my competition bbq friends at an event this summer. You could even mix the case to include those Jalapeno flavored pickle sickles! We'e be happy to review them and respond right here in my blog!

Hi Rod...thanks for doing the show on Tuesday! I finally got a chance to listen back to it (since I am also producing and engineering the show I rarely get to "hear" everything) last night and it came off really well.

All of you guys talked well on the two subjects and we had the biggest live audience so far (40 people). Thanks again for being apart of the first live "Round Table" segment! The show has been downloaded 35 times already which is great!!
