Boys and their toys

Last week the story broke that the championship team Lotta Bull was making room for a new pit in the proverbial garage, clearing out the old, trusted Jambo. Sources tell us the team will debut the replacement this weekend at the 22nd annual High on the Hog Festival in Winchester, Tennessee. We think we've caught a glimpse a day early of the pit in which the team will put full faith. Notice the square, supposedly insulated firebox, a big departure from the trailered pits currently offered by the builder and remarkably similar to those created by Jamie Geer.
Speaking of Jamie Geer, this brand spanking new Jambo, complete with a high gloss finish on the barrel, pin striping detail and ghost flames, was spotted at the Smoke In the Spring event last weekend in Osage City, Kansas. Posing with the pit is proud owner Donnie Teel of Buffalo BBQ. That's one awesome looking rig, one the owner should definitely be proud of. Smile Donnie!

Thanks to Greg of Ribs 4 U for the great shots of this new Jambo.

Post Script - Dear Readers, the communication lines are buzzing as a result of this post. Do not be surprised if it is reported soon that the first pit pictured is nothing like the actual thing. Stay tuned . . . .

I would too with a pit like that. Those sure are nice looking cookers. Hopefully it takes Donnie till after Pueblo to get the hang of cooking on it.

actually the pic of the first pit is mine, and my design. I picked it up last September and they asked if they could put it on their site and i agreed, The fire box is not insulated but it is 1/2" steel. Yoder makes a pretty good pit and I'm real happy with it. I am curious to see what they built Lottabull
