The White-Waitzman barn will be the site of the next Old School versus High Tech cooking class held in Kansas City on May 30th & 31st, 2008. This barn is where the first Pellet Envy class was held about a year back from this date and is decidedly "old school." Slated for demolition, this barn is an 1880's timber framed structure that was moved from it's original location. Mr. Zimmerman had the foresight to realize that barns like this are disappearing from the rural landscape in the midwest. With the help of an Amish crew, he disassembled the barn piece by piece and reconstructed it on his farm. This isn't your average barn either. Inside is an epoxy pebble floor, a complete loft for additional viewing of the main level, and even a miniature barn collection. Zimmerman's Kill Creek Farm is also the sight of the Cookin' On The Kaw BBQ contest. It's been held there four years now and is set to move to a new location by the river. Response to the very recent announcement of this class has been great already. We're excited to return home for this event and bring Johnny and Trish Trigg with us. For more information, please visit the Pellet Envy website and click on "Classes."
